Spring Preview:
February 1st, 2010
As the calendar turns to February the start of the 2010 college ultimate season is under way, even in cold, snowy Buffalo. The schedule is nearly finalized, and the Green Eggs and Ham are about to undertake their most ambitious tournament lineup in school history.
First up is a fifteen hour trip to Wilmington to compete in the first of three UOA (United Observers Association) tournaments this spring. The trip will pitch Buffalo off against 7 other teams in a round-robin format where there will be no easy wins, followed by an eighth placement game. After a few weeks of training we will be back in action on March 6-7 and making a day long trip to sunny Tallahassee, Florida where Buffalo will compete against some of the top teams in the nation at Division 1 of Tally Classic. As in Wilmington, every game will be observed. Upon returning from spring break, Buffalo will be traveling to Chicago to compete in one of the largest tournaments of the year, a 64-team battle at the Chicago Invite.
Focus and dedication will be required to sustain a solid effort against top teams across the country this Spring. With the schedule set to log 5,430 miles roundtrip before Sectionals, Buffalo should be tested road warriors and take that confidence with them into another hopeful Regionals bid.
