Habitat for Humanity

UB Habitat for Humanity welcomes people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Students and faculty alike who share our vision of eliminating poverty housing in Buffalo may volunteer their time to this most worthy cause. Volunteers work on local Habitat houses during the academic year. These houses are sold without interest or profit for over a thirty year period to partner families who also help build them. This creates pride of ownership for the families and the payments create a revolving "Fund for Humanity," helping Habitat to continually build and fix up more houses.
