The Journal of World Anthropology is glad to announce the beginning of its life as an Occasional Publication Series. After a long hiatus, we feel the urge to recommence publication of this journal as an opportunity to rejoin the electronic academic community.
JWA had been shelved to make room for a new project, the Anthropological Review Database (ARD). ARD will remain active, and provide anthropologists access to anthropological literature, make them more aware of what is being published, and help them to evaluate its relevance to their own interests.
The current issue includes work on landscape analysis of Irish wedge tombs, site distribution in Late Archaic glacial landforms, spatial analysis, interregional interaction and social complexity, and predictive modeling with GIS.
We are keen to publish a wide array of work, including papers that might not find an outlet in the more conservative print media. We embrace the spatial and temporal freedom of electronic media. We welcome theoretical and methodological papers, as well as research results from all positions, areas of anthropology, and regions of the world.
