How do I Activate my RPG Account?
|
Most students enrolled at UB are assigned UBITnames and have activated their email accounts by the time they start PSY 101. Most likely, you have been registered for the RPG system by the RPG Coordinator. Similarly, if you are not in PSY 101 but in an upper-level course and are participating in experiments for extra credit, you will be registered in the RPG system by the RPG Coordinator.
To activate your account:
- Go to the Sign-Up Home Page and select "Log In'. Next, enter your UBIT name in the field labeled "Logon." For the password field, the default password assigned to you is made up of part of your person number, and your date of birth. Enter your password in the format mmddpppp, where "mm" is the month of your date of birth (01 through 12), "dd" is the day of your date of birth (01 through 31), and "pppp" is a string of the last four digits of your UB person number.
Example: Jane Doe was born on June 13, 1982 and her person number is 12345678. Her default password would be "06135678"
- If your login is accepted, proceed to "I'm in, now what?" (below).
- If your login is rejected, and you were registered in PSY 101 within the first two weeks of the semester, check that you are using the correct person number and password and try again.
- If you were not registered in your course within the first two weeks you were not automatically registered with the system. You must contact the RPG coordinator to be registered in the RPG system.

Select Edit Your Profile. This is the form with which you may change your password, and with which you may add a second email address at which confirmation and reminder email messages will be sent.
When you have completed updating your profile, use the BACK key on your browser to return to the Edit Options page.
Now, select Edit Your Course Selection. and select the Psychology course you are enrolled in. You must select the correct course and section number, or you risk not getting proper credit for your participation. Getting this right is your responsibility. Find the right course/section in the list, and select that item using the checkbox in the Action column.
NOTE: If you are making up an incomplete for a previous semester, you must select your course number with section "INC."
If you have followed these steps correctly, you are now ready to schedule appointments to participate in this semester's experiments. Click HERE to proceed.
If you are a PSY 101 student and you are not able to log in contact the RPG coordinator for assistance
