Getting Started	There are several steps you must follow in order to begin participating in reseach. They are: You must know your UBIT Name as well as your UB person number. You must have an account on a UB-based system. Your UB email address will be your UBIT Name followed by ".buffalo.edu" You must know how to retrieve email sent to this account. You must know the course number and section number for the psychology course for which you are participating in these experiments, e.g., Psychology 101 Section Q.
I Know my UBIT Name	If you have a workng UB email account of the form ubitname@buffalo.edu, you are ready to proceed to check your setup on the RPG system, by clicking HERE. Otherwise, please read on.
I don't have email at UB	If you are new to UB or have otherwise not done so, you must set up an account on UB's campus-wide computer system. You'll log into this system using your UB IT Name, and your email address will begin with your UB IT Name. Please visit and read carefully the information at Computing & Information Technology page "Services for Students." Note that your email address is listed on the Campus Phone Book. Once your account is set up, you'll need to activate your account's email feature, and learn how to use the recommended email clients on campus - visit CIT's Email Overview Page for more information. Some background: Computing and Information Technology (CIT) is the department at UB which runs campus email, networking and other basic computing infrastructure. There are several places of contact at CIT to assist you in getting your UB computer account active and your email working. The first are the web pages at CIT. Second is the CIT Accounts Office, which is in Room 215 of the Computing Center (telephone 645-3540, email cit-accounts@acsu.buffalo.edu). Third is the CIT Help Desk. You can visit Help Desk consultants at 216 Computing Center, phone them at 645-3542, visit their web page at http://helpdesk.buffalo.edu, or email them at cit-helpdesk@buffalo.edu.
OK, I have UB email but....	I want to use my own ISP (internet) account for my email. Can I make this work? Yes. The RPG system we use allows you to specify a second email address, which does not have to be on UB's system. This account will get copies of confirmations and reminders emailed to you after you schedule yourself to participate in experiment sessions. The system considers your UB email address, ending in "@acsu.buffalo.edu" as your primary address, however, and you must use this address to get started.
