Dr. David Smith Click here for Dr. Smith's laboratory web site Summary of Research Interests: One aspect of my research is comparative. I study uncertainty monitoring and cognitive self-awarenes with human, monkey and dolphin participants. I conduct other research on categorization by humans and its representational basis, a project that includes extensive formal modeling. In other projects I study music cognition and aesthetics, with an emphasis on expert-novice differences. I am also a faculty member in the Department of Music and a member of the Center for Cognitive Science. Representative Publications:
