Advising

The University at Buffalo has a number of different advising offices to assist students in their academic planning. At UB, new students are assigned to an academic advising office based on their intended or approved major. Those students who are in a major or have an intended major are advised by faculty and staff in the appropriate professional school or College of Arts and Sciences. Those students who have not yet chosen a major are advised by the staff in Student Advising Services. In addition to these advising services, many programs have their own advising staff for students in those programs, including Athletics, the Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program, the Educational Opportunity Program, and the University Honors Program. Follow the links below for more information on these advising services.
