Office of Financial Aid
The University at Buffalo offers a quality and affordable education to all students. The primary responsibility of the cost of a college education rests upon you, the student; however, financial aid programs are designed to assist you in paying for that cost. Our goal is to maximize your opportunities to locate and receive financial aid from multiple sources to cover your finances so that you can concentrate on your academics.
The Financial Aid team works in conjunction with the Student Response Centers (SRC) to deliver various services. Each SRC is a single point of contact for prospective, current students and their parents that includes: financial aid, billing, registration and academic records.
New for 2012-2013
Due to changes in federal financial aid regulations, institutions can no longer accept copies of federal income tax returns to satisfy financial aid verification requirements. Tax filers can request a transcript, free of charge, of their 2011 tax return from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in one of three ways: on line, by phone or by mail. Financial aid applicants should not list UB as the third party to receive the IRS Tax Return Transcript since institutions will have difficulty matching incoming IRS Tax Return Transcripts to the aid applicant. It is required that all IRS Tax Return Transcripts be received directly by the tax filer and for all tax transcripts to be submitted in-person or by mail to the Student Response Center, 232 Capen Hall Buffalo, NY 14260 or to your financial aid advisor. Please include your UB Person Number on all documents.
