Please send any questions to Coach Brandi at boylbn11@mail.buffalostate.edu. BACK TO NORMAL PRACTICE SCHEDULE As of Tuesday June 27th, we are back on our regular pratice schedule at Alumni Pool (Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 - 7:00 am and Saturday 7:00 to 8:30 am). However, there is NO PRACTICE on the following days:
CHANGE IN PRACTICE A message from Coach Brandi Boyle: "UB will be closing their pool at Alumni Arena beginning May 8th. Our group will be relocating. We will swim at Clark Hall on UB's South Campus. The pool is located just off of Bailey Avenue right near the VA Hospital. The pool is tiny! To accomodate, we will be using the pool Mondays thru Thursdays, from 5:30-7:00, as well as Saturdays from 7:00-8:30 and 8:30-10:00. I am asking that you pick a set of two days to come. Two days during the week, and one slot on Saturday. It has been suggested to me that I just tell you which groups will practice on which days, and you can come on those days, or the other days and know that your group won't be there, but you can still swim. We are trying to make the best of this situation for all of you. This is an inconvenience for us as the pool is much further away, and more difficult for us to manuver. Please understand and appreciate the efforts that we are making." Please send your questions to Coach Brandi at boylbn11@mail.buffalostate.edu. So the temporary summer schedule is as follows, and swimmers are asked to choose TWO weekdays and ONE Saturday slot:
HOORAY !!! At last! As of Sunday March12, 2006, we're back on REGULAR SCHEDULE:

Joey Zwierzchowski will swim a marathon, yes, that's 26.2 miles in memory of Carly Collard-Cottone. Carly lost her three-year battle with brain cancer on August 16, 2002. She was 12 years old. Joey is swimming this incredible distance across Lake Erie and is reaching out to anyone and everyone for help and support on this swim. He has asked Nickel City coach Chris Miller to help by getting the word out about this. Chris and other swimmers on the team are selling raffle tickets to help raise money. Joey and the Carly's Crossing Foundation are looking for business sponsors as well. If anyone has any information about anyone willing to help out please let Chris know by e-mail me or at practice one morning. Chris has ample information about the event and the Carly's Crossing Foundation. Swimmers are asked to do what they can to help, and also to take some time and visit the websites set up in Carly's name, including Carly's Club. Please note that you can make a donation online at the Carly's Crossing Foundation as well. Swimmers who survive Andrea's intervals are cordially invited to stick around after practice this Saturday December 21st for bagels, juice and some holiday treats!! Practice is from 7:00am-8:30am. Dorsi (UB women's head coach) will also be around to help welcome the new coaching staff and discuss how she will help oversee the transition. Holiday party Sunday, December 8th at the Sterling Place (Hertel and Sterling) in North Buffalo. Festivities begin at 12:30pm. Cost is $5 per person. Guests are welcome! Please RSVP asap to Dana by December 5th. Results of the Nickel City meet! can be seen here. Congrats to all participants. Results from the Ironman Triathlon held in Lake Placid, New York. Congrats to all, especially Joanne, who qualified for Hawaii!
Individual stroke clinics! Our coach, Dana White, will be participating in the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon on October 13th, 2002. As a member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, she will run in honor of a local Buffalonian and leukemia patient, Julian Williams. Julian was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia at age 2 1/2 (he's 7 now). As Dana faces the challenge of running her marathon, Julian is enduring the difficult road of cancer treatment, one that includes doctors, hospitals and medical procedures as a part of his daily life. Dana's goal is to collectively raise $3000. She wanted to come up with a somewhat creative plan to raise at least part of the money, one that will benefit both Team in Training and Nickel City Splash. She will be offering private (groups of 1-2 swimmers only) stroke clinics, complete with videotaping, etc, for their sponsorship of $1 per mile ($26.20 total). Coach and swimmers will work together for 30-45 minutes (outside of usual practice times) on any aspect of swimming that the swimmer would like. Times are flexible. Swimmers need only bring a video tape. Dana should be able to get access to the underwater windows as well. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been nationally recognized as one of the most efficient and best managed charitable organizations in the country. At least 75% of each dollar will be dedicated directly to the Society's mission -- to cure leukemia, lymphoma and its blood-related cancers. Any contribution, regardless of size, is appreciated. Those who are not interested in the clinic but would like to make a donation towards the $3000 goal should please contact Dana as well.
