Minutes

July 1, 2006

In attendance: Nadine Clancy, Gregory Croniser, Diane Garcia, Garrett Hodgson, Drew Kwaitkowski, Andrew Seibert, Charlie Thill, Epa Uwimana

The meeting was called to order by Tom.

I. Elections for New Officers
All nominees were voted into office by majority vote. Each candidate was voted in with full support and 100% vote of those in attendance. The new officers are as follows:
  • President: Gregory Croniser
  • Vice President: Garrett Hodgson
  • Treasurer: Charlie Thill
  • Secretary: Diane Garcia
  • Senator: Drew Kwaitkowski
  • Senator: Colleen McNally
  • Vocals: Jeff Tredo, Nadine Clancy
II. Discussion on the future of Informatics
A. Drew and Garrett gave a brief description of the podcast they participated in, moderated by Jim Milles.
B. A general discussion regarding recent events and some concerns and possible solutions were discussed.
C. A general consensus that a partnership is key to the future of Informatics as a program.
III. Philanthropy and Public Service
A. Greg spoke about the possibility of starting a community-service oriented partnership with the community in which Informatics students would aid the community. More discussion at the next meeting.
IV. Discussion of creating a Undergraduate SA
A. A. Greg spoke about helping to create and undergraduate Student Association for the undergraduate in the Informatics program. More discussion to follow at the next meeting.
V. Mentoring Program for Undergrads
A. A. Diane spoke about the benefits of participating in a mentorship program with the undergraduates. More discussion to follow at the next meetin
