    Administrator, Gifted Math Program

    Anne Szczesny is the administrator for the Gifted Math Program at the University at Buffalo. She holds a Masters Degree in Secondary Math Education from Buffalo State College ('95). She worked as a school secretary, insurance rater, and cake decorator before becoming a non-traditional college student. Anne has taught math in parochial schools in Buffalo and also in the Gifted Math Program from 1991-2002 in GMP-2. As a member of AMTNYS (Association of Math Teachers of New York State), she often presents sessions on problem solving and various coding systems. Anne is the author of the Barron's review book Let's Prepare for the Grade 8 Math Test (2002) and Barron's New York State Grade 8 Math Test (2006). She also is a facilitator for WNED'S TeacherLine professional development courses. Her interests include gardening, needlework, sewing, jewelry making, and woodturning. Born and raised in Buffalo, Anne and her husband, Ted, reside in Lockport.
