WHO WE ARE
The Institute for Research on Women and Gender is a university-wide office dedicated to the promotion of research and teaching that addresses issues of gender, sexuality, or is sex-specific, with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity.
WHAT WE OFFER
PROGRAMMING:
Gender Week, International Women’s Film Festival; Biennual Gender Across Borders conference; visiting scholars, works-in-progress series, professional development workshops.

Weekly E-Digest of UB and community events, CFP announcements, women in higher education developments. Send us your email (ub-irewg@buffalo.edu ) and you will be added to our listserve.
STUDENTS:
Scholarships, Internships, Work study positions, one Graduate Assistant position; Work-in-progress session for Graduate Students to present a chapter or a paper; Support for student club activities (SA or GSA) with significant content on
women or gender; Programs, films, visiting scholars to enrich
your academic career (extra credit may be offered by some professors
to attend Gender Institute events.)
We are now in a our second year of offering an upper level undergraduate/graduate seminar on Gender & Film. The class is offered each spring through the department of Media Study and taught in conjunction with the International Women's Film Festival.
FACULTY:
Course Development Awards, Research Awards, Major Grant Reviews for NSF or NIH, Book Manuscript Workshops, Works-in-progress sessions, leadership development through committee work with the Institute, networking opportunities.
