Policies for Faculty Severance Remuneration
Approved by F.P.M.P Governing Board (2/23/99)
When
a faculty member leaves the faculty, remuneration associated with severance
will depend on the manner in which the faculty member received remuneration
during his/her faculty appointment.
A. If a faculty member received a salary from the Practice Plan which
was not directly dependent upon personal billings for clinical activity,
then the faculty member will not receive any monies from collections of
accounts receivable for his/her clinical activity prior to severance.
B. However, if a faculty member's compensation from the Practice Plan was directly dependent upon collections from clinical activity, the faculty member will receive any monies from collections of accounts receivable less the Chief Administrative Officers' Assessment, other standard assessments and cost of practice expenses for his/her clinical activity for 180 days following severance. However, if the faculty member received Departmental financial support at the beginning of his/her appointment and these funds have not been returned to the Department by the faculty member, he/she will receive only that amount of collected accounts receivable in excess of the initial financial support provided by the department.
