| The Allied Health Career Exploration Institute |
The Allied Health Career Exploration Institute is a program that students are required to take prior to entry into an Allied Health Program at EOC. The course is designed to provide an overview of Allied Health Programs offered at EOC and to expose students to day to day operations of a healthcare facility and medical training environments. After completing this program, students will be better equipped to make more informed career choices for short term and long term employment.
Program Description
The program is an intensive exploration of various careers that are classified under the allied health umbrella. For each career, participants are made aware of the required academic preparation, schools and facilities that provide the coursework, professional profiles and lines of progression within the respective field, job descriptions, the future direction of the profession, and HIPPA and sexual harassement certifications.
The coursework is a combination of lecture, worksite experiences, virtual experiences and collective research conducted by the students and instructor.
