Welcome to the
Association for Women Full Professors
Web site!

This association was convened by its members in response to the demonstrated needs identified in the 1997 President's Task Force on Women. The Task Force made recommendations for the improvment of the status of women at UB that included a consultant panel of senior women.  The mission of the association is to enhance the environment for women at this University through: 1) mentoring programs for junior faculty, 2) consultation on the composition of search committees for upper administrative positions, 3) promotion of leadership programs, 4) networking for women faculty.

Minerva, a stained glass and painted glass window, was created in 1906 by John LaFarge, the inventor of opalescent stained glass. It hung in the library of Philip Becker Goetz, the University of Buffalo's first professor of classics and English, and was donated to UB in his memory in 1957. Minerva is now on display in the University Archives, 420 Capen Hall.
