We care to see you succeed!  As a group, FMA utilizes its resources to work toward continual internal improvement and hold its members to higher standards of achievement.  As a member, we will work together on challenging projects that engage you and exercise your finance training in new and practical ways.  You will be utilizing real business techniques of advertising, brainstorming, raising capital, and networking while working together to improve your understanding of finance as a whole.  As you know, the key to any business is innovation and here at FMA we encourage new ideas and collaborative efforts to bring ourselves to new heights together.  We hope to add you to our team.

About Us

The Financial Management Association is nationally recognized as an organization made up of both professionals and academia collectively discussing and disseminating good business techniques and practices for over thirty years.  FMA works with business leaders from around the globe to come up with new techniques and ideas in related fields and analyze those currently in practice while at the same time providing a medium of exchange for this abundance of information. 

Here in Buffalo, we look to present these resources and methods to the UB student body in ways that are both thought provoking and interesting.  In the past, we have conducted fundraisers, had presentations from world renowned financial groups, and hosted trips to networking fairs around the country.   However, we are primarily forward looking and try to outdo ourselves at every end. 

This year we plan to continue getting qualified and experienced professionals while at the same time working a number of projects to significantly improve our status and name among the student body.  We are aggressively marketing using teams of students, working on field trips to various stock exchanges, and will be running a few competitions with finance in mind among other activities as the year progresses.  We are always looking for fresh ideas and fresh minds to propagate our success long into the future.  We hope you will be a part of that future with us.

Our Purpose

• Assist in the professional, educational, and social development of college students interested in finance, banking, and investments.
• Provide an association for college students actively interested in these fields.
• Encourage interaction between business executives, faculty, and students of business and finance.
• Assist our members in locating finance related positions.
