For a first time offender, the court may substitute a fine or forced labor for the State, for a prison term of not more than six months.
The judgment will state the basis of this substitution, taking
into account the convict's personal background, the motives behind
his conduct and the factual circumstances of the act. It will
also demand the reparation of damages within the limits of the
convict's capabilities and establish the amount of the fine at
the rate of one day of imprisonment for each quota, or the total
period of the forced labor up to six months, taking into account
the convict's attitudes and personal background.
