Article 45

Fines will be paid to the State in quotas, and satisfied in legal tender.

A quota is equivalent to the daily income of the convict and will be determined in accordance with his financial situation, considering especially his net worth, revenues, means of subsistence, levels of expenditure and other factors that the sentencing judge considers appropriate.

The quota for a convict who lives exclusively from the product of his labor will not be less than half his daily income nor more than h'is total daily income.

No fine in excess of 500 quotas shall be imposed.
