Whoever, at the time of the act or the omission, and for reasons stated in Article 19, lacked full capacity to understand the unlawfulness of his act or to conduct himself in accordance with said understanding, will be sentenced to not less than one third of the minimum, nor more than one third of the maximum legally prescribed for the corresponding crime.
If punishment is deemed inimical to proper treatment due to pathological
reasons, only medical measures will be taken. In all other cases,
a reduced sentence, a therapeutic measure or both can be prescribed
in the order indicated by the court.
