The University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York has approximately 16,000 undergraduate students from all parts of the United States and around the world. Founded as a private university in 1846, UB has grown from a small medical school to a comprehensive public research university. UB has more than three hundred degree programs at the bachelor, masters and doctoral levels. At UB the number of research institutes and centers provide a specialized learning environment, which incorporate research into the academic degree program. In addition, the technological services and student activities allow UB to be a major leading public research university.

Technology at UB
UB is focused on the 21st century placing an emphasis on information technology and computer-based careers. We offer students a technologically advanced education at our state-of-the-art computing facilities. Many computer lab facilities are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a staffed help desk. Students are provided with an on-campus wireless high-speed network and off-campus access to the university server with a personal portal to university information call MyUB.

Student Activities
The undergraduate student association (SA) is the largest organization for undergraduate students. This association is largely student run and has a mission to promote student activity on the UB campus. The SA funds and run over 180 clubs, organizations , service and Sub Board I.
