Timeline and Important Dates for Fall Semester

If you are intending to enter UB as a Freshman student in the Fall Semester (late August), then you should do the following by the recommended dates. [If you are a Transfer student, see Important Dates for Transfer Students.]

What to do:	When:
Take TOEFL and send your scores to UB (school code 2925).	the previous year
Submit your application (applications will be accepted after February 1st if seats are available).	February 1 st
Pay the Tuition Deposit if you are accepted (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above).	May 1 st
If you have been accepted to UB and plan to live on campus, pay the Housing Deposit and complete the Housing Preference Form (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above). UB has a shortage of on-campus rooms; therefore we recommend that you apply for housing as early as possible (by April 1st at the latest).	May 1 st
Pay the SEVIS Fee if you need to apply for a student visa (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above).	May - July
Apply for your student visa.	May - July
Arrange your travel to Buffalo (airport code for final destination is "BUF").	May - July
Register for the International Student Orientation (click on the "Accepted Students" link above).	May - early August
Arrive on campus and attend International Student Orientation.	August ("start date" on your I-20)

If you are intending to enter UB in the Spring Semester (early January), then you should do the following by the recommended dates:

Pay the Tuition Deposit if you are accepted (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above).	December 1 st
