Cost/Scholarships
As a state (or public) university, the University at Buffalo is able to offer very affordable tuition to all its students. International students pay the same tuition as other out-of-state (non-resident) students; there is no special surcharge for international students.
The University at Buffalo offers very affordable tuition pricing; compared to many of our public peer institutions, UB costs significantly less: 25% to 40% less in many cases. And when there are tuition increases (there have been only two increases in the past thirteen years), the average annual increase works out to approximately 3.5% per year. That’s why we say that UB is all about value: an excellent education from a top quality university at an affordable cost. UB stands in the front rank among the nation's research-intensive public universities; nevertheless, UB remains one of the most affordable public universities in the United States!
Even with an already low tuition price, UB offers scholarships, assistantships, and opportunities for on-campus work.
