Costs
Financial Support
- All applicants who are citizens of another country must submit evidence of full financial support for all expenses at the University at Buffalo as a condition of being issued immigration documents for F-1 or J-1 status (i.e., the Certificate of Eligibility, forms I-20 or DS-2019).
- Applicants must submit:
- A completed International Applicant Financial Form (included in the International Undergraduate Application) signed by both the applicant and the applicant's financial sponsor. Download Financial Form.
- A bank statement verifying that the necessary funds are available.
- Both of the above documents must be originals with original signatures and seals. Photocopies and faxed copies are not acceptable.
- While an admission decision can be made without the financial documentation, the I-20 or DS-2019 forms cannot be issued until both the Financial Form and Bank Statement are received.
Graduate students who will be receiving a tuition scholarship and stipend from the university do not need to submit the above documents. The academic department will notify International Admissions of the financial award.
