Timeline and Important Dates for Fall Semester
If you are intending to enter UB as a Transfer Student in the Fall Semester (late August), then you should do the following by the recommended dates. [If you are a Freshman Student, see Important Dates for Freshman Students.

Take TOEFL (and send your scores to UB). |

Submit your application (applications will be accepted after April 1st if seats are available). |

Pay the Tuition Deposit if you are accepted (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above). |

If you intend to live on campus, pay the Housing Deposit and complete the Housing Preference Form (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above) after you have been accepted to UB. UB has a shortage of on campus rooms; therefore we recommend that you apply for housing much earlier than the official deadline (we recommend April 1st). |

Pay the SEVIS Fee if you need to apply for a student visa (follow instructions in "Application Status" link above). |
May – July |
Apply for your student visa. |

Arrange your travel to Buffalo (airport code for final destination is “BUF”). |

Register for the International Student Orientation (click on the “Accepted Students” link above). |
May – early August |
Arrive on campus and attend International Student Orientation. |
August (“start date” on your I-20) |
