  • Masjid Dar Us Salam Bi-Weekly Dinner with Spiritual Talk from local leader – Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 8:30PM

This is truly a warm, humbling, and spiritual masjid that welcomes everyone with open arms and huge hearts. All of the people who have attended the recent events here really had tears in their eyes and really felt at home, subhan’Allah. Amazing group of brothers and sisters in one of the poorest and high crime areas of Buffalo, who offer you everything they have with what little they possess. May Allah reward them and grant them success for their humble efforts.

  • “60th Anniversary of the Nakba: The Catastrophe of Palestine a Photo Exhibition” Friday, May 16 in the banquet hall of Masjid Nur

In remembrance of one of the greatest catastrophes of modern times, the Palestine/Israel Task force will be coming to Masjid Nur to host a photo exhibition of this great tragedy which has resulted in the loss of our holy land, ard al muqadassa, and our 3rd holiest mosque, Masjid Al Aqsa. At 9:45 AM  we will be doing a really emotional, and highly interactive presentation for the children of Universal School, located in the Muslim Community Center. You are all more than welcome to attend.

As a way to reach the Muslim community and remember our brothers and sisters who have suffered over 60 years of occupation and oppression, we will have a small photo exhibition in conjunction with the Universal School’s annual Science Fair. We will be there from after the jumuah prayers until the evening. Please stop by if you can. This has not been formally approved, but insha’Allah it will get board approval. If it doesn’t not to worry as the students will be presenting their science project posters which is always fascinating.
