Center for Excellence in Global Enterprise Management

founding partners

The Center was established through gift support by founding partners American Axle and Delphi Automotive in 1999 as a three-way partnership to develop the enterprise level expertise needed to compete in the Internet Age. The brainchild of Engineering Dean Mark Karwan and Management Dean Lew Mandell, the Center has gone on to undertake several research programs with these and other industrial partners, including General Motors and Lockheed Martin. Current work with Delphi involves topics ranging from the shop room to the board room, including Production Control and Logistics. An exciting Design Mock-up project led by Profs. Victor Paquet and Li Lin will ensure that Delphi design teams will head to nearby UB facilities rather than remote plant locations for new design research. Lin says that the integration of both physical and computer simulation "will allow Delphi engineers to explore an extensive set of design alternatives."
