Leadership Opportunities SEFA Partners

Welcome

Dear friends and colleagues,

All of us at UB can be proud of our strong tradition of support and involvement in the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA). Through the SEFA campaign, vital community service programs receive support for their work with children, families, the elderly, and others with special needs. With your help, we will meet our goal of raising over $700,000 in this year's campaign to meet a wide variety of needs throughout our Western New York community and beyond.

Our campaign theme this year is "Stepping Up." We are asking that all individuals and all departments step up their involvement with SEFA on all levels, e.g.:

  • percent of SEFA pledge forms returned
  • percent of faculty and staff choosing to contribute to the campaign
  • total dollar contributions
  • percent of leadership gifts at the $500 or $1000 level or more
We also hope that many members of the UB community will step up to our new category of leadership giving, UB Gold, which includes all contributors who donate 1% or more of their annual salary to the SEFA campaign.

In addition to our generous financial commitment to SEFA, UB's faculty, staff, and students also have a distinguished record of involvement as leaders and volunteers in the many SEFA-supported agencies. As you consider making a SEFA gift this year, please take a moment to review the information on the hundreds of agencies and programs that are supported by the SEFA campaign. As always, you may designate your gift to one or more of those agencies or programs that may be particularly meaningful to you.

Thank you for your support, and thank you for stepping up to help make our community a better place in which to live and work.

Sincerely,
Lawrence Shulman
