The
Ancient Greek Political Ecology Project
![]() |
Welcome to the Ancient Greek Political Ecology Project.
The goal of this project is to facilitate increasingly rigorous
macro-political analyses of the Ancient Greek city-state system.
Currently, the data has been culled from Hansen and Nielsen's
An Inventory of Archaic and Classical
Poleis (Oxford: 2004).
Once the
data contained therein has been fully incorporated, data will be sought
elsewhere (with appropriate citation). As of now, the project's lower chronological terminus is the late fourth century BCE. It is hoped that the incorporation of new data, however, will extend that terminus into the high Hellenistic period. The website is managed by David Teegarden (University at Buffalo, State University of New York). Funding has been provided by Josiah Ober (Stanford University). |
