The Advisory Board of the Industry/University Center for Biosurfaces (IUCB) comprises designated representatives from Member organizations, each with one vote.  The Board meets at least semi-annually, to review ongoing projects and to set research priorities.  The membership fee, in accord with a formal Research Agreement negotiated between the University at Buffalo and Member industries/agencies, is $40,000/year, payable in cash lump sum, installment, or as a split $25,000 cash and $15,000 in-kind.

This fee entitles Members to specific intellectual property rights, copyrights, and publication delays as noted in the research agreement.  Advisory Board Members are assisted by assigned technical monitors for approved Projects, and recommend TIE projects with other NSF-sponsored Industry/University Centers have complementary technologies.
