Great Lakes Program (GLP)
The mission of the Great Lakes Program is to develop, evaluate, and synthesize scientific and technical knowledge on the Great Lakes ecosystem in support of public education and policy formation.

Institute for Local Governance and Regional Growth
This Institute contributes to and supports regional planning, government efficiency, economic development, service delivery, and other areas crucial to the vitality of Western New York and the Buffalo-Niagara Region.

Interdisciplinary Programs (IDP)
IDP offers opportunities to focus on a particular thematic area of interdisciplinary studies that overlaps departments in the Social Sciences and some within the Natural Sciences. Studies in this program result in a B.A., B.S. or M.S. degree in Social Sciences Interdisciplinary.

UBEN is a student run, student led network of progressive organizations and individuals whose aim is to uproot environmental injustices through action and education.

UB Green is the UB Campus Environmental Stewardship Initiative. Their site gives information on campus environmental activity such as groups, energy conservation, and recycling.
