Return to the English Department

Here’s what I’ll be thinking about and doing for the next few years: teaching the required undergraduate English 301- Criticism course, teaching courses on film, documentary, and the interactions of visual and verbal expression. I will be doing some work for the College Board on issues of higher level literacy. In addition, I’ll be focusing again on the question: "Why do I like this picture?" View other snapshots, meaningful to me, probably banal to everyone else. But I’d be delighted to discuss the matter. Send me an e-mail: engstef@acsu.buffalo.edu.

In the snapshot on the left, the kid next to me is named Yussel (his grandma called him Yussele.)

I'll be glad to explain the symbolic significance of the Plains, Georgia watertower.
