Predictive Load Balancing (PBR)
Repartitioning may be applied after each (or several) step of refinement (PAR) . Large changes in grid between cycles
=> Large Data Migration among processors
Using predictive measures on coarse mesh e.g. error, mesh modification directives, repartition coarse mesh and generate new elements on target processors(PBR)
=> Much lower data migration !
- additional local smoothing may be used to improve load balance/interface quality
