Dear Prospective Student:
The Intensive English Program (IEP) of the English Language Institute (ELI) provides high quality intensive English
instruction, preacademic training, and cultural orientation to international students preparing for university study
in the United States; the program also welcomes individuals who are not students and wish to improve their English
language proficiency.
Thank you for considering our Intensive English Program (IEP). We would be delighted to welcome you to Buffalo and
have you study with us. We can help you improve your English so that you can achieve your goals, whether you plan to
attend the University at Buffalo (UB) or another U.S. college or university, enhance your language skills for business
or professional purposes, or be part of the growing international community of English speakers. Our program will meet
your needs.
You will find our IEP challenging and enjoyable, our classes and curriculum demanding and fun. Our teachers are well
trained, highly experienced, and truly dedicated to their students. They can help you advance your skills and
learn to succeed in an English-speaking world.
