| With greater open access to UB student,
faculty and staff records, it is imperative that awareness of security
issues across campus be raised. This website tests your expertise in protecting
yourself and the university in the electronic world. No records regarding
your "score" are being collected. For more complete information, please
look at the
UB IT Computer and Network Usage Policy and the
UB IT Resources Conditions of Use Policy. As long as you use any of
the university's computing systems, these policies, which are intended
to protect you as well as the university, apply to you whether you have
ever seen them or not. You are responsible for knowing them; violations
committed in ignorance are treated the same as those committed knowingly.
You will notice that there are few "right" and "wrong" answers. Instead, you will be presented a scenario and asked to decide on an appropriate course of action. We hope that these scenarios, and our suggestions, spur more careful thought and discussion about computer security. The first scenario deals with copyright. |
