| Angela is working on her monthly report
when she hears a verbal explosion from Zelda in the next office. She goes
to investigate. Zelda is staring at her computer screen, shaking her head
in disbelief. "What's wrong?" she asks.
"I just don't understand it. Three days ago I got an e-mail, some cheesy sales pitch. I wrote them back and asked them to leave me alone. The next day I had over a dozen, and this morning I got exactly..." she stops to count, "134 messages--and some of them are porn! How could this have happened?" "I don't know," Angela says. "Does anyone else use your account? Maybe your kids..." "No, no, we don't have a computer at home." "Okay. Do you post to any discussion lists or did you subscribe to any newsletters?" "Not lately. I can't tell you how frustrating this is! What gave these people the right to do this to me? Who should I contact to get it stopped?" How should she proceed? |
