Introduction

Shockwave is a multimedia platform capable of playing games, viewing animations, and using certain interactive programs on the Web. Once downloaded and installed, Shockwave will work automatically within your web browser to play any compatible content.

Obtaining Shockwave Player

  1. Shockwave Player can be downloaded at: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/.
  2. Click the Download Now button.

  3. Make sure that Save to Disk is selected, then click OK.

  4. Please wait for the download to complete. When it does, click Open next to the filename in the Downloads window. If the Downloads window does not appear automatically, press Ctrl j to view it.

Installing Shockwave Player

  1. Note

    You should install all web browsers that you intend to use on your computer before installing Shockwave.

    Click Install to begin the Shockwave Player installation process.

  2. If you do not want to install the Yahoo! toolbar, deselect the checkbox labeled Install Yahoo! Toolbar for Internet Explorer, I agree to the terms above. Only Internet Explorer users can use the Yahoo! toolbar. Click Next to continue.

  3. Please wait while the necessary files copy to your computer.

  4. Click Finish to complete the Shockwave Player installation.

  5. A web browser will open and direct you to Macromedia's web page, where an animation will play if you have successfully installed Shockwave Player. Installation complete
