Introduction

QuickTime software allows you to watch movies, as well as view streaming video from the Internet, listen to music, and view still pictures.

Obtaining QuickTime

  1. QuickTime can be downloaded at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html.
  2. In the Download the free player section of the page, deselect any email lists that you do not want to join, enter your email address in the respective field, then click Free Download Now.

  3. Select Save to Disk, then click OK.

  4. Click Open next to the file in the Downloads window. If it does not appear automatically, you may view the Downloads window by pressing Ctrl j.

Installing QuickTime

    Note

    Installing QuickTime will also install iTunes media player on your computer.

  1. When the Welcome window appears, click Next.

  2. Read the License Agreement, select I accept the terms of the license agreement, then click Next.

  3. Select any installation options that you prefer and select the directory in which to install QuickTime and iTunes, then click Install. The default directory is recommended.

  4. Please wait while the necessary files copy to your computer.

  5. When the installation process completes, click Finish to exit the installer.
