Microsoft Office 2003 Download for Windows

Introduction
The Microsoft Office 2003 suite is licensed to all students, faculty, and staff at the University at Buffalo. Faculty and staff are licensed to install Microsoft software on university and personally owned computers for academic or work-related purposes. The suite is a software package containing popular Office development software: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The software is available to University at Buffalo students, faculty, and staff as a download.
Pre-Installation Notes
Before installing Microsoft Office 2003, please check the minimum hardware and system requirements for computers, listed at http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/proreq.mspx.
Important Licensing Notes
You are only permitted to install Microsoft Office 2003 onto a single computer that is personally owned by you, and you may reinstall the software as many times as needed onto this computer only. You are not permitted to share the software with anyone else, burn it to a CD, or make it publicly available through such methods as file sharing.
Note
You must only download Office 2003 using a broadband connection, such as cable, DSL, or ResNet, or else download it in a public site and save to CD. Do not download it over dialup.
Installing Microsoft Office 2003

Please wait while the setup program prepares to extract the necessary files.
- When the Welcome window appears, click Run.
- Please wait while the installer extracts and prepares to run.
- When the extraction process is complete, Windows Installer prepares to begin the installation process. Please wait while this process completes.
- When the Setup window appears, enter your name, initials, and organization name into the appropriate fields, then click Next.
- Select the type of installation you want to use, then click Next. The Typical Install type is highly recommended.
- Make sure that the appropriate installation options are displayed, then click Install.
- Please wait while Microsoft Office installs onto your computer.

When the Setup Completed window appears, ensure that Check the Web for updates and additional downloads is not selected, then click Finish.
- Select Run the Service Pack 2 installer, then click Finish. It is highly recommended that you install Service Pack 2.
Note
Before installing Office 2003, you should update your computer using Windows Update.
Note
You should install Office Service Pack 2 (included in this install) before you download updates online.
Installing Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2
- When a dialog box appears, asking you to confirm whether you want to install the Service Pack 2 update, click Yes.
- Read the License Agreement, then click Yes.
- Please wait while the installer files extract.
- When the Windows Installer window appears, please wait while Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2 installs onto your computer.
- When a dialog box appears, confirming that Service Pack 2 has succesfully installed, click OK.

Post-Installation Notes
After Microsoft Office 2003 has installed onto your computer, it is highly recommended that you update your installation using Office Update, in order to ensure that you have the latest security fixes and feature updates.
