Introduction

Enabling Power Management on a Mac is a quick and easy way to save energy. Enabling Power Management allows you to use less energy to keep your monitor on while your computer is inactive.

Enabling Power Management

  1. Log into your computer as the administrator.
  2. Click the Apple menu, then select System Preferences.

  3. Click Show All, then select Energy Saver from the Hardware section.

  4. Click Show Details.

  5. From the Settings for pull-down menu, select Power Adapter.

  6. Select the Put the display to sleep when the computer is inactive for check box. Set the slider to 15 minutes.

Your computer is now set up to use power management features.
