AIM Express for Windows

Platform: Windows

Introduction

AIM Express is a web-based alternative to AOL's Instant Messenger client. AIM Express allows you to use your AOL Instant Messenger account and buddy lists from any computer. You can use AIM Express to chat with family, friends, and anyone else in the world using AIM without downloading the full client. You can also use AIM Express to send reference questions to the librarians at the Undergraduate Library.

Note

When obtaining updates from Windows Update, you must use Internet Explorer.

To use AIM Express in Windows XP, you will need to install Service Pack 2 or later from the Windows Update site, located at http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp. This is a free download; however, it may take some time to install. Follow the directions on the site and reboot your computer after the update process is complete.
