In addition to its professional advisors, the College of Arts & Sciences Student Advisement and Services office has five undergraduate Student Assistants. These students are trained in dealing with general education requirements and are updated on new University policies.

Student Advisement Assistants' responsibilities include:

  • Assisting students with course scheduling, registration and academic questions
  • Marketing the services of the College of Arts & Sciences Student Advisement and Services office
  • Presenting workshops on study skills and registration in the College of Arts and Sciences Student Advisement and Services office or in UB 101 classes
  • Advising students one-on-one about improving their study skills and habits

  • Participating in fall and spring open houses, held on one Saturday each semester
  • Taking a leadership role in one significant project
  • Assisting with office operations as needed
