The Addiction Research Unit (ARU) is a nonprofit scientific research group
with laboratory facilities at the University at Buffalo (a campus of the
State University of New York). The ARU's mission is to:
conduct basic scientific research investigating the neural basis of addiction,
develop medications for the treatment of addiction, and
disseminate unbiased scientific information concerning addiction.
Financial support for the work at the ARU is solicited from:
pharmaceutical contracts, and
government grants and contracts.
Grants and contract research accounts are managed by the Office of Sponsored
Program Administration (University at Buffalo), and private donations are
administered by the University at Buffalo Foundation.
