Anthropology Departmental LibraryLocationThe library is located on the second floor of the Millard Fillmore Academic Complex just beneath the Anthropology Department main area in the Ellicott Residential Complex on the North (Amherst) Campus. Hours Fall 2008
The Library is closed when classes are not in session, including Finals Week. ServicesThe library houses an extensive,
non-circulating collection of mostly anthropological books and journals.
Included are a large number of textbooks, journals, ethnographic items,
and most student theses. Articles may also be put on reserve here for
use in department classes. UB is one of a select group of universities with access to the Human Area Relations Files, a current, comprehensive database of worldwide cultures. This invaluable resources is an important tool in analyzing the wide variety of social features that are present in different cultures. It is also used for research and training in cross-cultural studies. You can also access the files through HRAF Web Access. Reserve materials may be taken out of the library up to fifteen minutes before closing time. Maximum time limit for signing out reserve readings is 2 hours. HRAF files and regular collection books and journals do not leave the library. Search the Department Student Theses Database located at the Departmental Library.
