Mr Hardwick appears very fond of the royal "WE"... As one of the
"students sucked into all this", I fail to see what his case has in common
with ours. I was one of Dr Rindos' postgraduate students when he was
sacked, and to varying degrees we all have suffered as a result of that.
Out of his six postgraduate students three have had to withdraw before
submitting. Our problems, however, were NOT due to any actions or
misdoings of Dr Rindos. Rather, they were caused by the stressful
processes that accompanied his sacking, and the loss of his highly valued
input as our supervisor. I should stress here that we all have stood by
him until the very end, and that on every occasion and at every level of the
university, we have defended his qualities as a scholar and our supervisor.

Mr Hardwick's problem is entirely different. He chose to kick a man in the
ribs who was already down, who had already seen his career being ravaged,
and is now whinging that the guy stood up and hit him in the teeth.

Tough shit, Gil.

Right, Gil, nothing at all...

Where have I heard such rantings before? It sounds chillingly familiar,
though the context is different. Visions of old black and white images,
enraged crowds shouting "Juden raus!", "Volk und Vaterland", "Blut und
Boden!"...

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....
