The conference is the Milton Plesur Conference that the GSHA holds annually. Many of our grad students have given papers and attended this conference in the past. This years' conference is entitled "Context and Contingencies - Cultivating Historical Perspectives"; their keynote speaker will be Nayan Shah, a professor from California whose works weaves together many subfields including cultural history, social history, immigration and medical history. The conference will be held Saturday April 4th in the Student Union.
The New SubBoard Programming Grant Computers have also been purchased and will be assembled over break in time for the Spring Semester. We made need some help bringing the old computers down to the Anthropology office to be recycled/disposed of, and some help rearranging the computer lab. More details will be sent via listserve.
