The meeting began at 10:30 AM.

  1. Nominations for the 2006-07 AGSA Executive were opened. Nominations will remain open until Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00 PM by e-mail (bdlundy@buffalo.edu). Ballots will be put in everyone's mailbox on Wednesday, August 30. Votes will be returned to the "AGSA mailbox", and will be counted Thursday evening after 5:00 PM. The winners will be announced Friday at the AGSA Fall Picnic.

  2. $100 was unanimously encumbered to co-sponsor Dr. Carol Berman's bringing of the film, "Flock of Dodos," (www.flockofdodos.com) to Buffalo for a screening. The subject of the film is the Intelligent Design controversy. The screening is scheduled for the evening of Nov. 2 and Randy Olson the writer and director will accompany the film and answer questions following the showing. The venue has not been finalized, but it will be either Rockwell Hall at Buff State or one of the large classrooms at UB (north campus). The screening will be free to the public.
  3. The AGSA Fall Picnic has been tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 1, 2006 at 4:00 PM at the Ellicott Complex Picnic Area, directly after the Anthropology Department's Faculty Committee meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 AM. The next meeting will be announced on the listserv.
