"Section IV. i. The AGSA will elect a network administrator to maintain the AGSA computers."
Heather Fried nominated Sever Ionica for this position, and eight people voted for Sever to have this position It was discussed that guest speakers will be sought after and sponsored by the AGSA, but we will also seek sponsorship aid from other departments with increased GSA funding. Some of these departments may be Biology, Classics, History, and Sociology to name a few.
It was voted and agreed upon that we will form a committee to oversee the acquisition of speakers. Louis Rotsos will be the Cultural representative, Glorimar Pagan will be the Archaeology representative, Gemmae Fix has been nominated for the Physical representative, but has since declined the nomination. Dave Ingleman, the president of the Undergrad anthropology association will also be requested to serve on this committee.
Funding for speakers will be available through AGSA, but the exact amounts and such will be granted on a case by case basis.
It was voted and agreed upon that $50 be encumbered to Katie Biggie for a guest speaker who is a Tibetan Monk.
The following people requested aid in funding a trip to the AAA’s and were denied funding:
Stephanie Boyd, Elias Rotsos, Michelle Albus, Lori Eldridge, Chris Wahfeld, Dan Grover, Carina Iezzi, Alex Priebe, Amanda Shero
Carina Iezzi also requested funding support to attend a symposium titled Constructions of Childhood in the Ancient World. She was also denied.
Katie Biggie has requested funding for a conference in November. Her request was also denied.
Katie Biggie will be posting the designs for T-shirts that have been submitted and we will have a vote for the most popular choice. For those of you who are not in the area and would like to vote, we will announce on which website photographs of the designs will be posted and you can vote via email.
Chris Connolly has volunteered to host a Halloween party on October 31st at his apartment in Allentown. Everyone must arrive in costume. It was voted and agreed upon that $100 be encumbered to Chris for food. Detail for the party TBA.
The meeting was adjourned at 2pm. The next meeting will be announced on the AGSA list serve.
