There are a few events scheduled for the end of the year:
- On May 2, at 4pm, in the Totem Pole room we will be having an end of
the year reception/pot-luck. There will be beer and wine, but please
bring a dish. Also, in honor of Mary Anne’s retirement, $30 will be
encumbered to Jen Randall for a cake(preferably ice cream) and a card.
- The party will migrate from the department to the hospitable abode of
our treasurer Renee Cadzow. $100 will be encumbered to Renee for
burgers and dogs and all that good stuff.
- $120 will be encumbered to Roli Bansal for the purchase of alcohol for
the party.
- $25 will be donated to the department, directly given to Phyllis, for
commencement.
- The following upper level students have volunteered to type the
Qualifying Exam for 1st year students:
Jen Randall,
Renee Cadzow,
Gemmae Fix,
Jen Richardson,
Geoff Carver,
Ciara,
Heather Fried
There are 8 1st year physical and archaeology students, so all help is
appreciated. The qualifying exam is Wednesday April 30 from 9am-1pm.
The typing party will be in the grad lounge shortly thereafter.
- $50 to be encumbered to Heather Fried to purchase toner for the grad
lounge copy machine.
- $50 to be encumbered to Brandon Lundy to help subsidize the cost of
AGSA t-shirts that will be available for purchase shortly.
- It was voted and decided that there will be two new elected positions
added to the AGSA board next fall. The first is a TA/GA Union
representative, which will obviously need to be a member of the union.
The second is the position of a fellowship chair, which will entail the
responsibilities of organizing social events, possibly organizing a
regular happy hour or other such dealings.
Repectfully submitted,
Roli Bansal,
Secretary
