
AGSA Minutes - April 25, 2002
In Attendance:

Here are the upcoming events:
Monday April 29th: Archeology Typing Party for the First Year Qualifying
Exam GOOD LUCK
Wednesday May 1st: volunteering at friends of the night people, meet at
Renee's office outside the smelly monkey area
May 3rd- May 5th: Cultural Students' Qualifying Exam GOOD LUCK
Monday May 6th: END OF THE YEAR BBQ at Renee's begins at 3 and goes until
people can crawl home
Sat May 11th: CUltural retreat in Salamanca hosted by Sid Horton
"overnight trip to Allegany Reservation/State Park for the following (all
which could be done); Iroquois National Museum Tour, Seneca artist
colloquium/lectures (Carson, my friends Rotten, etc.), physical
anthropological examinations of animal bones, etc., Seneca cultural expert
lectures, a native foods/medicinal plant symposium, a general retreat for
the AGSA for discussion of current anthropological issues, etc., etc."
The following allocations were made:
- 100$ to Renee Verhoef for food and meat for the BBQ at her house on May 6th
- 150$ was allocated to possibly Chris Wahlfield for a world map wall mural
for the grad lounge
- 100$ was allocated to Alex Miller for stocking the grad lounge with office
supplies (ink cartridges, toner, paper, etc)
- 50$ each to Eva Hulse, Jessica Torrance (if she accepts) and Renee Verhoef
for purchasing a journal or publication for each subdiscipline (to be housed
in the grad lounge)
The Handbook will be revisited this summer by Jennifer Randall and anyone
else who might have an interest.
Ammendments as of 5/16/02
The following is an amendment to the minutes of the last meeting of the AGSA.
- The money allocated to Alex for the purchase of office supplies has been decreased to 50$
- 25$ was allocated to the Department for the Graduation Ceremnoy held last Friday in the Totem Pole Room
- An additioanl 7$ was allocated to Ryan Austin for the purchase of the computer
