In Attendance:
-An election/appointment was held during the week of September 3-7 The newly elected positions have been posted on this list serve and in the Anthropology Office. -A proposal was made to allocate money for maintenance of the computer equipment in the Graduate Lounge. Jennifer Richardson and Alex Miller will be monitoring the computer room. The following alloctaions were made: 55$ for printer cartridges 175$ for toner 75$ maintenance -The statement was made that the AGSA will provide no support for students to attend conferences. SOme funds are available to students through the GSA. -Several students are interested in coordinating a brown bag luncheon. Those students are Mike Roets, Casey Coke, Katie Ainsworth, and Jennifer Randall. Anyone interested in preparing a talk or have any ideas for speakers, please feel free to contact Mike or any other members of his committee. -The budget for this year is about 1200$. Several proposals were made about how to spend the money. If you are interested in voicing your opinion, please attend the meetings and voice your opinions. -The graduate lounge is in desperate need of cleaning!!!!! This Friday at 5, beer and pizza will be served while graduate students clean and organize the stylish and moderately dirty graduate lounge. Just as a simple reminder, for those who do use the facilities, please remember that your mother/father/maid does not work or live here, therefore, we must all clean up after ourselves. Thanks!! -By the way, Tammy Butner mentioned that it was hot enough to breed sheep in the lounge sometimes!!!! Those MAINEIACS!!! -Several suggestions were made about participating in blood drives or maybe planning a blood drive. Anyone interested in helping with this activity, please see Katie Ainsworth. -Several students are also interested in becoming involved with other community service projects. Jennifer Muller is checking on some of those. -It has also been recommended that we try and work more closely with the undergraduate club, any ides should be brought to the next meeting or to this list serve when the ideas arise!! -At the next meeting we will discuss the Halloween Party. Any recommendations can be sent to the list serve or Jennifer Randall.
